Hi,

I have downloaded, created a CD, and now I am waiting for the main menu to come up. The program is slowly going through the messages "No space left on device". It has been running for 30 minutes.

This is a new build with an AMD 64 processor on a Gigabyte mb with 8 gigs of memory. The OSs that are on the machine are 2 copies of Windows 7 Pro and Linux Mint Mate. The hd are WD Black edition 500 gigs and WD Green 2 TB.

Any ideas?

Bill

Are you guys the right place to post about nircmd.exe command line program?

EasyBCD Help Please

I learned about Easy BCD and found the software quite useful trying to solve some problems with my win7 installation. I also downloaded the Win7 Recovery Disk Professional and used it to run a Virus check on my desktop with Win7 Prof. It found about 7 threads which were remoived. I than ran the recovery function and it gave my desktop a clean bill of health. i then tried to run the disk on my HP Pavilion dv6-6023 TX laptop with Win 7 . After starting the laptop with the Recovery disk in the drive I clicked ESC to enter the boot sequence and I selected to start from the CD drive. Unfortunately nothing happened, I tried it a couple of times but so far I was not able to start the recovery program. Can you help me with this problem

Can't boot from second OS?

I have a Dell Win8.1 machines with two SATA drives.
I installed EasyBCD on my main HD.
Later, I had to switch the SATA connectors around, to install Win2k8 Server on the second HD.
For as long as I left the connexions alone, my PC booted in Win2k8, always.
But, one day, I needed to get back into Win8.1?
EasyBCD menu never came up during Win2k8 boots -- how could it?
So, to get back to my Win8.1 environement, I had to switch the SATA connectors around a second time.
This time, when I booted, EasyBCD detected Win2k8 and offered me a choice.
I chose Win8.1. And everything has worked eversince.
But now, I need to get back into Win2k8 : it does not work.
--
I get "Windows Boot Manager" and a menu of both OSs.
If I chose Win2k8 and press Enter, I immediately get a screen that says:

+ Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem :
+ 1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
+ 2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next.".
+ 3. Click "Repair your computer.".
+
+ If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
+
+ File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
+ Status: 0x0000225
+ Info: The applicatino or operating system couldn't be loaded becasue a required file is missing or contains errors.

At that point, I have to choice but to revert to the previous screen and select Win 8.1.

What should I do?

Linux mint 17 boots to grub prompt dual booting with windows 8.1

I recently upgraded from Linux mint 13 to Linux mint 17 using a live Linux Mint 17 usb drive. Grub was installed in the same partition as the Linux installation. Easy BCD 2.2 was used to configure the windows boot manger. The linux partition and Grub2 were selected. Windows 8.1 boots Ok but when Linux Mint 17 is selected the computer boots to the grub command prompt. An ls command displays a list of the files and folders on the Windows C drive. I can boot into the Linux Mint 17 partition correctly using a super grub 2 boot cd. The computer is a Dell inspiron laptop with standard Bios.

Computer setup:

SDA MBR
SDA1 System files
SDA2 Windows 8.1
SDA3 Data
SDA4 Linux 17, Grub2
SDA5 Linux Swap

I would appreciate any help in solving this problem

EasyRE CS - Automated Repair option just hangs on "Please Wait" message

I downloaded the EasyRE CD to resolve a problem with my Vista OS not booting. At startup, I was getting as far as the scrolling "Copyright Microsoft Corporation" message, then it just black screened on me. Hitting/holding F8 wouldn't get me to the Recovery Screen

So I booted from the EasyRE CD and reached the options screen where I selected "Automated Repair." However it has been hanging on the "Please Wait" message for over a day with no indication that anything is going on to progress any fix. The monitor also goes off after a few minutes but can be refreshed by hitting Enter on my keyboard or clicking the mouse.

Has anyone else had this experience and can suggest a way forward?

Thanks

I have the following issue and hope somebody will have an answer for me.

My Acer ASPIRE One D-257-13450, 250 Gig HD Win 7 Starter and 2 GIG memory began giving a whining sound on start up and even when processing. I decided to buy a new drive and image this squeaking drive before it fails. Problem is, the imaged drive has the missing BOOTMGR. Imaged the drive twice with the same results (BOOTMGR missing).

How di I fix this problem without a CD/DVD drive.

Any suggestions is highly appreciated.

Hello,

I have an old eMachine that had Windows XP Home on it.

I found another hard drive.

I unplugged the Windows XP drive.

I plugged in the new drive and installed Windows 7 to it.

I shut down. Plugged in the Windows XP Drive as Slave. Booted into Windows 7. I then Installed EasyBCD and Added Windows XP Entry with EasyBCD.

Now when I reboot I see two options for Windows 7 and Windows XP.

Windows 7 boots perfectly.

Windows XP always BSOD with 0000007B Error.

What should I do to fix this?

Thank you very much for any help you can give me.

Strange Boot Selection Menu

I'm triple booting Win 7, Win 8 and Win 10. My boot selection menu is strange as shown below. Also shown are the EasyBCD settings and the Disk Manager layout from my Win 8 daily use boot. Its not a big deal but it would be nice if the boot selection matched the EasyBCD entries. I've tried using EasyBCD from the other partitions using the appropriate drive letters with much the same results.

CAN'T RUN/BOOT WINDOWS 10 ISO

Hello,

I'm obviously new to EasyBCD and multi-booting/run multiple Operating Systems. But I'm having trouble running/booting (Windows 10 Technical Preview Enterprise 64 Bit) from my Vista pc.

Here are the steps I took:

1. Loaded Win10 ISO to EasyBCD from both mode options: Run from Disk & Load from Memory!

2. Next I restarted my pc twice and chose both Win10 entries from the Windows Boot Manager.

3. After rebooting my pc twice and choosing both Win10 entries, they both gave me the same outcome which was text saying:

GRUB4DOS 0.4.5c 2012-06-19, Mem: 639K/2947M/1024M, End: 3549ZF

[ Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word. TAB
lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists the possible
completions of a device/filename. ]
grub> _

4. Lastly I just tried entering the Win10 Bootloader Path: \NST\AutoNeoGrub0.mbr to see what will happen, nothing happen except I got (Warning! No such command: C:/NST/AutoNeoGrub0.mbr) then I pressed TAB and it showed the Possible commands. From there I didn't do anything else.

How or what do I need to do to make the Win10 ISO run after I select it from the Windows Boot Manager, without getting the results I got?

Thanks A Million!!!

The selected partition cannot be recovered with this repair CD Windows 7

I have just purchased the Windows 7 Recovery Disc and tried to use it to repair my PC which runs Windows 7 64 Bit.

When I choose the Windows 7 drive and choose “Automated Repair” I get the message -> The selected partition cannot be recovered with this repair CD. You must use EasyRE for Windows 7 instead. Please select a different drive to continue.

Also get the same message when I try to do a System Restore.

Any ideas why it isn’t working?

Thanks,
Sven.

Installed MBR and BCD, still not bootable?

$

Hi guys,

I used the guide here to make my drive bootable: Changing the Boot Partition

I have a 256 GB Transcend MTS600 SSD which I want to boot from. I currently have the SSD in an enclosure because I was transferring data from my HDD to the SSD via the USB enclosure before I take my HDD out and put in the SSD. I want to make sure the drive is actually bootable though, so I'm just trying to boot off the SSD in the enclosure. After following these instructions, it is still not bootable. The drive is formatted as MBR and is Primary (since BG doesn't support GPT at the moment). Not sure if I should format it back to GPT or what. Changing boot orders also does not work.

I'm not sure if this is because the drive is in an enclosure, or if it's just because it didn't work. Also, here's what bootgrabber.exe /tlist says: http://i.imgur.com/wsbkVdJ.png

The drive I'm trying to boot from is D:/

Thanks.

"Error Opening BCD Registry"

I'm sure I'm probably the 50th guy to post this message but I looked through the forums and could not find a helpful answer from anyone.

My computer has 2x512GB SSD's, one running Windows 8.1 (primary) and one running Windows 7 64bit. I originally installed EasyBCD and it worked well for a few weeks until I started getting errors when logging into Windows 7.

I thought I could just uninstall Easy BCD and reinstall it but now when I do it says this:

easybcd-error.jpg

I don't know what this .BCD file is and clearly I don't have it. Should I use one of the option in the "BCD Backup/Repair" option to "Reset BCD Configuration" or recreate boot files?
